  Of Blood Moons and Elections: Did God Just Vote?

  Many are predicting a red wave in the US elections this year. Some believe it to be an historic election, reminiscent of 2010 when voters were unhappy with new policies introduced by Democrats and scandals in the news.

   

  David Barton thinks 2022 may be more of a tsunami than a wave. The Hill agrees. Whatever the numbers, Josh Phillip, Senior Investigative Reporter at Epoch Times, says the trend is definitely looking red.The New York Times, NBC News  and USA Today  agree.

   

  But early Tuesday morning before the polls are open, something else will be turning red.  The second full lunar eclipse of 2022 will turn the moon red. It is the first blood moon ever to happen on Election Day in the United States. The eclipse will be seen from New York to Hawaii. Even the (red) moon agrees with the political news? Did God just vote?

   

  November 8 is making history. People are wondering about the significance of a blood moon since they understand God planned this to happen on this day. Some pastors are saying it does have a prophetic significance to the United States. They think it will be like when God led the Israelites out of Egypt and through the Red Sea to deliver them. "God brought the nation out," says Deuteronomy 6:23. Likewise, November 8 will be a time of God bringing our nation out. But like the Israelites who had rough spots ahead, America too will have its troubles after the election. They warn Christians will need to remain in faith and know that God wants to work for them.

   

  Israel's election is fueling hope in America that the tide is indeed turning as Netanyahu returns. As someone said to me recently, "Fisrt for the Jew, then for the Gentile." It might be interesting to note that Netanyahu won because of his conservative moral stance and his Israel first policy...

   

  Others understand the blood moon as a warning. Rabbi Mordechai Genuth  says eclipses are bad omens for Israel and predicts the same for the United States. He sees the blood moon in relationship to Israel's and America's favorable opinions to give Arabs control of Israeli land. He gave a warning to Biden last year concerning the longest lunar eclipse of the century (November 18-19, 2021) and making decisions against Israel. I would like to point out that eclipse happened when Jews were reading about Jacob/Israel wrestling with a "man." It is called Parashat Vayishlach.

   

  According to Chabad, on November 8 the Torah reading is Genesis 19 about angels rescuing Lot out of Sodom. This reading is part of a section called "He Appeared" and includes Genesis 18 as well. In Genesis 18 the Lord appeared to Abraham.

   

  Also, it may be important to mention that Pleiades will be above the blood moon on November 8 and growing brighter as the eclipse progresses.  Pleiades is mentioned in the book of Job along with Orion as a sign of God's wisdom and power. It is a star cluster found in the constellation of Taurus. But it is also mentioned in Amos 5:8, "Seek him that maketh the seven stars [kı̂ymâh] and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name."

   

  Amos, through the Holy Spirit, is telling his listeners how to be delivered in a time of trouble and coming doom. He was preaching against a corrupt legal system where justice was dead, and he was warning people not to put their hope in other leaders. They were to seek God, the only One able to deliver. Amos seems to reference the resurrection– "turneth the shadow of death into the morning"– and the flood– "calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth." The conclusion? God is strong enough to bring deliverance or judgment; the choice was up to them.

   

  In Revelation, chapters 1,2 and 3, Jesus is said to hold the seven stars in His hand. The seven stars are the seven angels of the seven churches. Some believe then the Pleiades can be a symbol for the seven churches and the seven church ages. Others call it the "Bride of Christ."

   

  If our understanding of the seven star reference to the church is correct, it is no surprise then that satan created the religion of Ishstar and called her the bride of heaven. Satan is an imitator and usually takes over God's holy places as he does throughout the earth whether the Temple in Israel, the caves at Machpelah, Ezekiel's tomb in Iraq or a star cluster called Pleiades in the sky.

   

  One more thing-

  Concerning the star cluster as a symbol of the church, there is something happening on November 9 called Light Up The Church. Churches in America are turning their lights on and leaving them on in an act of solidarity with Israel. On November 9, 1938, Nazi Germany began their attack on the Jewish community. It was called the Night of Broken Glass. A hundred Jews were killed November 9-10. The Light Up The Church event serves as a reminder believers are still at work; Jews are still alive and now thriving. Neither group will ever be snuffed out. In fact, their light grows brighter...

   

  The planet Uranus will also be visible to the upper left of the moon, but in some countries will be hidden by it. The November blood moon, like the one in May 2022, will be unusually long according to Space.com. 

   

  So...

    .     

   

   

  Let's try to sum this up.

   

  An unusually long blood moon with an increasingly bright Pleiades may be a message of warning or an encouragement or both, and it happens on an important election day in the United States which has never happened before, and at a time Jews are reading a portion of the Torah called "He Appeared" which includes Lot leaving Sodom. The blood moon comes a day before the  84th anniversary of The Night of Broken Glass which began the Holocaust. Oh, and Uranus will be in the picture too, at least for some. And, red will certainly be the color of the day.

  Does any of this mean anything? Is there more meaning to glean from this historic blood moon? Or is it malarkey?
